WJA3's top Albums & Songs

I know I'm a little bit older than the figurehead of the NHB's but according to his list, hip hop started in 1991. Showrocka's list was so bad, I had to come out of my blogging sabbatical to set things right and prevent the blog from being shut down by the hip hop police. I did top 15's to help undo the black Kevin Costner's horrific top 10's.

Top 15 Hip Hop Albums of All Time

15. Snoop Dogg - Doggystyle
14. NaS - Stillmatic
13. Jay-Z - The Blueprint
12. NaS - It was Written
11. Jay-Z - In My LIfetime, Vol. 1
10. Jay-Z - Reasonable Doubt
9. LL Cool J - Mama Said Knock You Out

People are probably going to rush to hate on this entry, but check the track listing: the title track, Booming System, Around the Way Girl, Jingling Baby Remix.....this is a classic album!

8. Redman - Whut? Thee Album
7. Mobb Deep - The Infamous
6. Notorious BIG - Life After Death
5. A Tribe Called Quest - The Low End Theory
4. A Tribe Called Quest - Midnight Marauders
3. Notorious BIG - Ready to Die
2. NaS - Illmatic

How the hell did Show omit this from his top 10?

1. Wu-Tang Clan - Enter the Wu-Tang (36 Chambers)

The most creative and unique hip-hop album ever with 9 hungry MC's spitting hard pause.

Top 10 Hip Hop Songs of All Time

15. Notorious BIG - Gimme the Loot
14. Jay-Z - Public Service Announcement
13. Notorious BIG - Hypnotize
12. Dr. Dre - The Next Episode

The only non-East Coast rap song to make the top 15. That's because non-East coast rap is just of a lower quality on average (pre-2003). Don't lie to yourselves and believe something different.

11. NaS - Made You Look
10. EPMD - Rampage
9. Jay-Z - Money Ain't a Thang
8. A Tribe Called Quest - Vibes & Stuff
7. Notorious BIG - Who Shot Ya?
6. Wu-Tang Clan - Wu-Tang Clan Ain't Nuthing ta F' Wit
5. A Tribe Called Quest - Jazz
4. Ol' Dirty Bastard - Brooklyn Zoo
3. Mobb Deep - Give Up the Goods

Queen's Hip Hop at it's best.

2. Wu-Tang Clan - Shame on a Nigga

Dirty, Rae, & Meth just goes buck wild on this song.

1. LL Cool J - I'm Bad

The prototypical rap song. James Todd talks about how great of a rapper he is, how many girls he can get, and how he can knock anyone who steps to him (this was before rappers talked about killing their adversaries on the regular).

In conclusion, A Tribe & Wu-Tang are the greatest rap groups ever, Biggie, NaS, & Jay-Z are the greatest rappers ever, and no southern rap song or albums are top 15 anything.

I'll buy your Album list barring the obvious misstep that was adding a redman album and leaving off the Chronic.

That list of singles however...for shame.

Helen Keller couldve made a better mixtape.

Outkast gets no love as one of the greatest groups? I know they dropped a classic disc somewhere in there
